Part 1, debuting the new series.
So, expect the first Arkham City Riddler video out tonight. Starting with the courthouse in Park Row and starting from there. I have to admit getting into the swing of things did not turn out so bad, though I am fervent to at least get all the RECORDING done before Zelda hits on the 20th (I don’t care, I’m playing Zelda no matter what!). But no worries, its actually a lot simpler than I thought. Thanks to the Enigma Machine, all riddle trophies are revealed on the map, so it makes bee-lining to them rather conveniently.
I actually would have had the first video out last night had Adobe Premiere not somehow crashed on me during rendering. No error, just a pop-up saying its crashed then poof, there goes the first video … i tried to pull up the save again and it was blank! So, there was 4 hours gone. a 4:1 ratio of time spent editing video to actually recording video seems to be my pace. A lot of the parts that get cut are plotting routes to each video, failed attempts at puzzles, and intermittent fights between passerby thugs (they still spawn post-game). I’m not a fan of such wasted space and I don’t like using that as padding (you guys played the game, you know what fighting looks like, am I right?). This first video, only 14 minutes and change long, consumed over 40 minutes of footage, for example (so I hope I am saving people that much time).
Otherwise, the first episode of Digital Hindsight is still simmering, as I work on it any time I want to take a break from batman (given my time windows, not often) and other real-life projects. The background music in the footage is the Combat Challenge music from Batman Arkham Asylum, so youtube shouldn’t have an issue with it. I did not use in-game audio simply due to the amount of editing I was doing and also I wanted people to focus on the narration and video.
Ok, that’s the update for today, stay tuned tonight for the first awaited video for Arkham City.
OBM out.
